Instrumentation for EngineeringECE 483/683
DESCRIPTION: Study of instrumentation including design, fabrication, and application. PREREQUISITES: Senior level standing is required The student will be able to apply principles, theories, and techniques used in taking physical measurements. Students will design and build electronic circuits to perform signal transduction, amplification and conditioning. LabVIEW will be used to acquire, present, and save data. |
Biosensing TechnologiesBiosensors are defined as analytical devices incorporating a biological material, a biologically derived material or a biomimic associated with or integrated within a physicochemical transducer or transducing microsystem, which may be optical, electrochemical, thermometric, piezoelectric, magnetic or micromechanical. This course provides instruction in the basic science and engineering concepts required to understand the design and application of biosensors. This module serves as an introduction to some of the biosensors and measurement techniques.
